Dr. Richard José López Santana was sworn in this Saturday, along with the other members of the board of directors, as the new president of the Dominican Society of Spine Surgery (SDCC) at the 2021 congress held at the Hyatt Hotel, Cap Cana.
Dr. Lopez Santana pledged to increase the number of health professionals in the area, as well as to maintain continuing education based on international-level congresses, as has been the case up to now.
“We will strive to keep the Dominican Republic as the number one in spinal pathology treatments”.

Dr. Richard López is a graduate of the medical school of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, with a specialty in orthopedic surgeon and traumatology at the Hospital Regional Universitario José María Cabral y Báez, and a sub-specialty in spine surgery at the Hospital Ortopédico Infantil de Caracas Venezuela.
