Award for business excellence

The Innovati Foundation in its mission to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, presented its annual panel of Innovation and Innovati Awards for Business Excellence.
The event took place in the auditorium of the Pyhex Work building, headed by the president of the foundation Luis Sánchez-Noble, who presented a panel in which experts and referents of innovation in the Dominican Republic such as Roger Marte, from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes; Ignacio Méndez, from Pyhex Work; Porfirio Báez, from Green Depot; and the economist Milcíades Willmore debated on the state of innovation in our country.

During the event, three entrepreneurs representing the most innovative companies were awarded, these being Rafa Monestina representing Supermercados Bravo as the “Large company; Manuel Grullón Hernández of GCS Systems as “Medium innovative company; and as the “Small innovative company” was recognized Hugo Pork, representative of Hugo IV Beras-Goico, companies created by entrepreneurs with a vision towards the social impact of innovation, an aspect that has been part of the philosophy of the Innovati Foundation since its creation in 2012.

Addressing the guests, Sánchez-Noble thanked the support of Banco Popular, Lanco Dominicana, Asociación La Nacional, Laboratorios LAM, Grupo SID, Reid y Compañía and the collaboration of Induban, while explaining that this activity annually brings together businessmen and entrepreneurs who work every day to strengthen a culture of innovation to create a future with more competitive companies, generating jobs and economic development in every city in the country.

Likewise, Mildred Josefina de Sánchez-Noble, vice-president of the foundation, expressed her special thanks to the sponsors “who always accompany us in this exciting task we have as a foundation, to leave our positive footprint in favor of entrepreneurship and innovation in the Dominican Republic”.

The foundation’s directors, accompanied by representatives of the Asociación La Nacional and Laboratorios LAM, presented awards to three new entrepreneurs who are starting their innovative projects: Emadin Guaba for “Conesur”; Suleika Ureña for “Mother Bee” and Angélica Luciano for “Pantojao”.
