Inposdom receives donation of 9 trucks and 68 scales

The Dominican Postal Institute (Inposdom) received the donation of 9 trucks from the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and 68 digital scales from the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (Upaep), as part of the recovery strategy designed to provide quality service to users of the state postal system.

The equipment was received by the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, and by the director of Inposdom, Erick Guzmán, who thanked the UPU and Upaep for the trust placed in the Dominican Government, which will have a significant impact on the optimization of the services offered by the postal entity.

In this regard, Minister Echavarría said that the most important thing for the government is to improve the quality of life of Dominicans, specifying that President Luis Abinader is focused on raising the quality of services offered by public institutions. He cited, as an example, the work being done by the management headed by Guzman at Inposdom.

“We have the responsibility to improve the quality of life of Dominicans and this is one of the important objectives of this government in 2024,” said Minister Santos Echavarría.

Meanwhile, Erick Guzmán spoke about the work that has been carried out for the development of the postal entity, indicating as focal points the transparency and the commitment of his team and all the collaborators of Inposdom to bring this entity to an optimal level of service and quality.

“We have given more participation, opened more service issues, installed a call center for customers to have more information and we are committed to provide a quality service, but we are also committed to make Inposdom efficient,” said Guzman.

He added that currently the parcel system is capable of delivering goods to their final destination in three days, and said that within a month Inpospak, the courier service of the Postal Institute, will be reopened for the use of all users, with a view to contributing to the dynamization of the economy, especially through electronic commerce.

Currently, the Dominican Post receives donations from different international organizations due to its international indicators in quality improvement.

The activity took place at the Inposdom headquarters and was attended by national authorities, employees of the postal entity and users, who expressed their satisfaction with the services used by the Dominican state postal service.
