Rainieri: Tourism goal 17 million in 2035

The founder of the Puntacana Group, Frank Rainieri, stressed the importance of continuing to promote the tourism sector for the development of the Dominican economy, since the RD has the potential to promote the sector in international markets.

For this reason, he believes that the Dominican government should set a goal of reaching 17 million tourists by 2035, surpassing the recent record of 10 million visitors.

“Spain was developed by tourism. It has turned it into a world power,” he explained.

The businessman indicated that the arrival of more tourists to the country would increase income for local commerce, increasing profits for the Dominican economy, generating more “construction, income to the State, jobs and productive chaining, he said.

According to Nuevo Diario, he also emphasized that the growth and progress in tourism that Punta Cana has presented, positioning itself as a reference of Dominican tourism at the world level.
