Edwin Encarnacion’s Hilton Garden Inn La Romana to open in July

Former Major League Baseball player, Edwin Encarnación, main shareholder of the Hilton Garden Inn La Romana Hotel, informed that the tourist complex will open its doors at the end of July.

“We are already in the final stage, in completion thanks to God, with much sacrifice we have managed to be almost inaugurating our hotel, so that next July we will be making the grand opening of the Hilton La Romana hotel,” said the former La Romana native.

The hotel, located in the Caleta Municipal District, La Romana, has required an investment of 22 million dollars and has 130 rooms.

Located a few minutes from Catalina Island, one of the main natural attractions of the region, the complex will generate some 300 jobs. Encarnación highlighted the impact it will have for the province of La Romana and Dominican tourism, according to RC Noticias.

“Tourists will have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful islands we have, which is Catalina Island, we have it in front of the hotel and I know that there are many Dominicans who do not know it, I think it will be of great benefit to the Dominican people and also for tourism,” he said.

As to whether he will continue in similar projects, Encarnación did not rule out the possibility, “we are step by step, little by little, after this project we will see what other project we can present, what vision comes to mind, then we will make a decision”.
