Exclusive: Best to open third hotel in Punta Cana

The Spanish chain Best Hotels continues to bet on the Dominican Republic and has just acquired a plot of land in Punta Cana/Bavaro in order to build its third establishment in the country. The hotel chain, owned by the Batalla family, landed before the pandemic in the country’s main tourist center and in a short period of time will have three establishments.

The hotel will have around 800 rooms, according to reliable sources to which arecoa.com has had access. The plot is located in a strategic location in Bávaro, next to the Iberostar complex and was owned by the Botello family. A great number of investors were interested in this land because it was the only one available in the area.

Until not long ago, the plot where the third Best hotel will be built was one of the few in the country where a group of “coral growers” were located. Once the stumbling block with these “invaders” of the beach was overcome, the Botello family got rid of a problem that kept the interested companies away. Botello and Batalla came to an understanding a few months ago and closed the operation satisfactorily for both parties.
