Grupo Puntacana announces at Fitur a new ultra-luxury hotel

The Puntacana Group revealed the details of its next hotel project in eastern DR, which will be built with an investment of more than 100 million pesos and will have 80 ultra-luxury rooms.

The new hotel project of the tourist-family group will be under the Playa Serena Punta Cana Resort brand and is expected to be inaugurated in 2026, according to the Group’s executives at Fitur 2024.

“The hotel will be of low density with a very important ecological part, as we said, 80 rooms, only two floors, always under the coconut tree to make the most of the entire beach and that our customers feel that the beach is unique to them. This hotel will be designed by Dominican architects and built by Dominican architects and always using our great Dominican contractors”, explained Frank Elías Rainieri.

He indicated that the group is making the leap into luxury tourism, “as it is not afraid to evolve”.

In line with the Puntacana Group’s reputation for offering high quality experiences, the new hotel will incorporate elements of innovation and luxury.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, thanked the commitment and investment that the Puntacana Group always makes for the country.

“For the DR, it is a source of pride that the Rainieri family, pioneers in tourism, invests in luxury tourism, as it is in line with the country’s strategy to continue evolving in this segment of luxury tourism,” he said.

Also, Collado indicated that “we appreciate this investment of 100 million dollars, this year the Rainieri family has taken a step forward and we have just come from a breakfast where Frank Elia is going to inaugurate a 500 room hotel in Miches, the Rainieri family as a group is in Uvero Alto with the first all inclusive “W” in the Dominican Republic and now they have just made this important announcement of 100 million dollars”.

Present at the announcement of the project were Frank Rainieri, founder of Grupo Puntacana; Haydée Kuret de Rainieri, Paola Rainieri and Franchesca Rainieri.
