With this, the intention is established that the hotel operation of the complex, of 300 hotel rooms plus the management of some 100 branded residences, will be carried out by Meliá Hotels International, having one of its distinguished brands as its flag.

The estimated initial investment between all the partners in the project will exceed US$70 million and construction is expected to begin as soon as possible once the project’s distinctive fit is determined.

It is recalled that Punta Bergantín is a government initiative promoted by Grupo Reservas and the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) to develop a tourist complex in Puerto Plata, the first tourist region of the country, which contemplates at least 4500 new hotel rooms, 2000 residential and mixed-use tourist units, plus an additional 2500, a golf club, public access beach clubs and the creation of a thematic village unique in the region.

Also, film studios managed by actor and producer Vin Diesel will be established, as well as an innovation center that will turn the destination into a reference not only in tourism, but also in innovation and entrepreneurship, creating a “silicon bleach” unique in the world.
