On January 15, Falcon’s Resort by Meliá, All Suites Punta Cana will undergo a rebranding to become Paradisus Grand Cana. The change comes after an evaluation of the market response and the strength of the brand, according to Andre Gerondeau, chief operating officer of Meliá Hotels International.
As a result, he stressed that Paradisus is perceived more positively and has greater growth potential.
“Originally known as Paradisus Grand Cana, the property was renovated and relaunched in early 2023 as Falcon’s Resort by Meliá. This was part of a collaboration between Meliá Hotels International and Falcon’s Beyond, an entertainment development company,” he added.
He indicated that “the rebranding of the resort was intended to align with Falcon’s Katmandu Park Punta Cana, a neighboring theme park, creating a unique resorttainment experience.”
He acknowledged that the introduction of the Falcon’s Resort concept provided valuable feedback. Despite the rebranding, the partnership with Katmandu Park will continue at Paradisus hotels in Punta Cana.
“In particular, Paradisus Grand Cana will feature 108 special “Katmandu Experience” swim-up suites among its 432 accommodations, offering guests enhanced amenities and complimentary access to Katmandu Park Punta Cana,” he said.
In addition, Gerondeau revealed Meliá’s current expansion in Punta Cana. Plans are underway to begin construction on a new Zel-branded property in May. The Zel brand, a collaboration between Meliá and tennis star Rafael Nadal, launched in late 2022 with its first property in Mallorca.
Paradisus Grand Cana and the upcoming Zel project are part of a larger resort in Punta Cana, which includes Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort, Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort and Meliá Caribe Beach Resort.
