Powerful Marriott bets on DR: “14 more hotels under development”

Marriott International Hotels reaffirms its strong commitment to the Dominican Republic, a market in which it already manages 14 hotels and has an equal number of establishments under development, according to Louise Bang, director of Sales and Marketing of the chain.

According to Marriott’s “Travel Trends Forecast”, the Dominican Republic is one of the preferred destinations for both leisure and business travel for U.S. tourists.

“Dominican Republic has all the ingredients to be the perfect destination for group travel: some of the best beaches in the world, a natural wealth and culture that invites further discovery, excellent air connectivity to major U.S. and Latin American airports,” said Bang.

Marriott’s strong presence in the DR is evidenced by the 14 properties it manages in the country, represented by 3,744 rooms and 9 brands. Overall, it has a total of 43 properties and 11,013 rooms throughout the Caribbean.
