European Union makes 45.5 million euros donation

For the Dominican education sector

The Dominican Government’s Multilateral Cooperation Agency (DIGECOOM) on Wednesday signed an agreement with the European Union, which will continue its support for the country’s education with an allocation of 45.5 million euros (RD$2.3 billion).

European Development Funds coordinator Antonio Vargas and European Union local representative Irene Horejs signed the agreement in the presence of Spain’s ambassador Jaime Higuera Lacadena and Education minister Josefina Pimentel.

On behalf of the Dominican Government, Vargas thanked the European Union and the media’s coverage of the efforts to improve education.
