Expedia appoints new CEO: Ariane Gorin

Ariane Gorin will take over as CEO of Expedia effective May 13, 2024, the travel company has announced. Gorin, currently Expedia’s president of enterprise, will succeed Peter Kern, who has been at the helm since 2020. Kern will continue as vice chairman and member of the board of directors, assisting in the transition.

Gorin has been with Expedia Group since 2013, where she has served in a variety of executive roles, most notably leading the B2B sector to achieve revenue growth of 33% in 2023 compared to the previous year. During her tenure as president of Expedia for Business she led the company’s global supplier partner group, advertising business and B2B partner network.

Barry Diller, president and senior executive of Expedia Group, expressed his confidence in Gorin, citing her exemplary leadership over the past decade. Gorin expressed his honor at the helm of the company and anticipated further growth, capitalizing on the foundation laid by Kern and the global team.

Kern praised the resilience of the Expedia Group team during a period of ambitious transformation, positioning the company to lead the industry for decades to come. He praised Gorin’s leadership ability, especially in managing the B2B business, and looks forward to supporting her in her role as Vice Chairman.
