JAC and Unicaribe strengthen relations for the benefit of air transport

The president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), José Ernesto Marte Piantini and the rector of the University of the Caribbean (Unicaribe), Emilio Mínguez, give continuity to the cooperation agreement that unites them with the aim of strengthening inter-institutional relations and consolidate projects for the benefit of air transport.

Among the topics discussed at the meeting, both entities are committed to promote a set of activities aimed at training professionals, technicians and personnel involved in the air transport activity, as well as the creation of spaces for dialogue to promote the exchange of knowledge.

Likewise, clear objectives were set with the purpose of strengthening academic programs through workshops, diploma courses focused on specialized topics of the air sector, as well as promoting the development of research.

Likewise, both representatives proposed to develop actions to train technicians of the institutions and companies that provide services in the country’s airport terminals, in terms of accessibility and universal design, adapted to the requirements of air transportation facilitation.

In that sense, Marte Piantini emphasized the interest of the organization that they preside that in the country the scholarship programs of the Aeronautical Management career are expanded with a view to strengthening the training and formation of human resources involved in civil aviation in the country.

He reported that for several years as a result of the agreement between the parties, is being taught under the direction of the JAC, in the facilities of UNICARIBE the Talk-Workshop Fundamentals of Accessibility and Universal Design in the Processes of Facilitation to Passengers at Airports and the Diploma in Sign Language, the latter in coordination with the National Institute of Technical and Vocational Training (Infotep).

The meeting was attended by Dr. Paola Pla Puello, secretary of the JAC; Eng. Juan Cesar Thomas Burgos, director of the Aeronautical Management career of Unicaribe.
