Puntacana Resort presents Culinary Weekend

With the slogan “A feast for the palate”, Puntacana Resort presents the first edition of Culinary Weekend, to be held March 7-10, with the participation of five renowned Latin American chefs in a unique culinary encounter.

International chefs Mitsuhara Tsuruma, Marsia Taha, Benjamin Nast, Álvaro Clavijo and Janaina Torres will present exquisite dishes selected to create an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Culinary WeekendThe gastronomic event will open with a cocktail party on Thursday, March 7, introducing the weekend’s chefs, with appetizers prepared by Bolivia’s Marsia Taha, recognized in 2021 as Latin America’s Top Female Chef, according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants; and Chilean chef Benjamin Nast, ranked in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants.

On Friday, March 8, the experience will be in charge of chef Mitsuhara Tsuruma, a specialist in Nikkei gastronomy, which arises from the mixture of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. Tsuruma is currently the owner of the Peruvian restaurant MAIDO, ranked number 1 as the best restaurant in Peru according to the SUMMUM Guide, number 3 on the list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and number 11 on the list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

On Saturday, March 9, the gastronomic experience will be led by the talented chef Janaina Rueda, ranked #4 of the “50 Best” Restaurants in Latin America, accompanied by the mastery of Marsia Taha.

The event concludes on Sunday, March 10, with the culinary creativity of chef Alvaro Clavijo, ranked #2 of the “50 Best” Restaurants in Latin America, and once again enjoying the distinction of Benjamin Nast.
