The Dominican Republic closed its participation in the V International Badminton Championship Santo Domingo Junior 2021, with a total of 12 medals.
The local team registered three gold, two silver and seven bronze medals in the competition organized by the Dominican Badminton Federation at the Table Tennis Pavilion of Parque del Este. The golden diadems came thanks to Daniela Acosta, who equaled Nairobi Jiménez’s record in this event by taking first place in the three modalities.
The traditional October championships “Badminton for a Pipe” continue today at 10:00 a.m., with the start of the second tournament “III Dominican Open” where the juniors repeat joining senior players from Aruba, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, United States, Ecuador, India, Panama, Peru, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic as host.
