Leones roar with new manager and veterans Iván Nova and Albert Pujols

Veteran right-hander Ivan Nova continued his dominance and on Wednesday won his third victory of the Dominican winter baseball championship, as he left the Toros del Este without options, who lost 4-0 at home to the visiting Escogido.

The Tigres over the Gigantes and the Aguilas took advantage of the Estrellas in Wednesday’s other two games.

Toros succumb to Leones in front of their home fans
The Leones del Escogido gave a winning debut to former catcher Ronny Paulino, appointed hours before traveling to La Romana to replace manager Rodney Linares, who was unceremoniously fired.

Nova (3-0), pitched six blank innings and retired three batters by strikeout, to extend the bad moment of the Toros, who played in front of their home crowd at the Francisco Micheli stadium in La Romana on the 28th day of the LIDOM tournament.
