Aerodom projects arrival of more than 600,000 travelers during Christmas holidays

Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) expects the arrival of more than 600,000 travelers, mostly absent Dominicans for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

This was reported by Aerodom’s director, Monika Infante, who stated that this year the highest flow of passengers is expected during the Christmas holidays, and it is expected that most of them will arrive through the José Francisco Peña Gómez Las Americas International Airport (AILA).

Infante said that at least 533,000 passengers are expected to arrive in Las Americas from the United States, Europe, South America, Central America and the Caribbean islands.

These places are home to many Dominicans who usually visit the country during the Christmas season to join their families and enjoy the end of the year.

He added that, in the case of the Gregorio Luperón International Airport, in Puerto Plata, also operated by Aerodom, the mobilization of 91,200 travelers is projected for December.

At the Profesor Juan Bosch terminal, in Catey de Samaná, a flow of 10,500 passengers is expected, while at the Joaquín Balaguer International Airport, in Higüero de Santo Domingo Norte, the projection is for 3,300 passengers.

With the estimate of more than 600,000 passengers during the Christmas period, Aerodom forecasts that this figure will contribute to more than six million people traveling this year through the airports operated by the concessionaire.
