President Luis Abinader headed this Tuesday the presentation of the tourism expansion strategy supported by Marca País that the Dominican Republic will deploy in the next edition of the International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2022, in which the country will participate as a guest partner.
Accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, the president expressed that this step taken by the country is a sign of commitment to important allies, such as IFEMA and all those who visit the fair in search of opportunities.
“Starting 2022 validating the country’s commitment to the industry, will be a firm step to start the year of the full recovery of tourism. We do not waste any opportunity that is given to us and we work day by day with the purpose of placing our country as one of the best tourist destinations in the world,” said Abinader.
This participation is of great importance and strategic visibility for the promotion of the Dominican Republic’s great tourist attractions to the world at the most important tourism fair in the world.
The figure of FITUR Partner, implemented in 2016, establishes a broad field of joint action in the most significant areas of promotion and communication of this great event of the tourism industry to be held from January 19 to 23, 2022 organized by IFEMA MADRID ,at the Fairgrounds of the Spanish capital.
The collaboration of the partner country also contributes to creating a close link with the sum of the brands “Dominican Republic, It Has Everything” and FITUR, which will allow the Caribbean destination, with its long and consolidated participation in the Fair, to take advantage of and make even more profitable the magnificent promotional potential of the event in the face of the world.
In addition, the country will be part of the great week-long display under the symbolic slogan “We embrace the world” that will be projected internationally from the city of Madrid, on the occasion of FITUR.
President Abinader also stressed that this participation reaffirms the commitment of this government to relaunch Dominican tourism in order to achieve the highest occupancy rates, attract new investments and continue to improve the quality of the Dominican Republic’s offer to the world.
For his part, the Minister of Tourism stressed that participating as a partner in FITUR next January will mean starting the year with a full throttle to achieve the full recovery of Dominican tourism and make 2022 the year with the highest number of tourist arrivals in the country.
“We are betting on being a partner in FITUR in 2020, in the midst of a difficult situation, when no one was thinking about it, which has put our country in an enviable position and we are sure that it will be a successful bet” stressed Minister Collado.
Meanwhile, the general manager of IFEMA Madrid, Eduardo Lopez Puertas, said that it is a privilege and never ceases to amaze the organizational capacity of the country, so he appreciated the honor of being partners in the most important fair of all history.
He said that in this transcendental edition he could not have a better ally, a more relevant FITUR partner than the Dominican Republic, a country capable of representing the determination to excel.
He affirmed that the Dominican Republic is a world reference for the expected recovery of tourism.
