Tourism to unveil “Change the Season” in Times Square

The Dominican Tourism Institute announced the opening of “Change the Season,” a pop-up exhibition in Times Square that invites New Yorkers and tourists alike to escape the cold and immerse themselves in the culture, music and flavors of the Dominican Republic.

Tourism Minister David Collado will preside over the inauguration, which marks the start of the six-day celebration open to the public, free of charge, from November 19-24, 2023.

The ministry explained that the “Change the Season” installation is an enclosed dome that “will bring to life the best of the Dominican Republic and its culture both inside and outside the dome. Adorned by an original piece by renowned Dominican artist Angurria, who painted the mural as seen from the outside and captures the Dominican spirit, culture and traditions.

“When guests enter the dome they will be transported to the tropical essence of the Dominican Republic and greeted with the hospitality that represents the friendliness of the Dominican people. Guests can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city in one of the armchairs while enjoying cultural exhibits,” a statement said.
