Air Europa agrees with Mitur to operate two weekly flights to Santiago

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and Juan José -Pepe- Hidalgo, president of Air Europa, signed an agreement to enable two direct weekly flights from Madrid to Santiago.

The negotiations and signing of the agreement took place today during the International Tourism Fair 2024 (Fitur), with the participation of the directors of the Cibao International Airport: Félix García and Manuel Estrella.

Collado pointed out that Air Europa has maintained direct connectivity between the country and Europe for many years.

Meanwhile, Hidalgo expressed that the flights will connect Santiago with Europe, not only with Madrid. “When we leave Madrid, we already have 20 or 30 European points before”.

García said that US$500 million were invested to expand the runways and the terminal to accommodate more passengers in “better conditions”.
