Banco BHD to expand ATM network in tourist areas

Banco BHD and LATAM ATM Solutions announced the signing of an agreement aimed at developing a network of ATMs that will be available in the main tourist areas of the DR.

With this alliance, new ATMs will be added to the BHD network, which may be used for consultations and withdrawals free of charge by the customers of the financial entity and the users of Unared.

The first ATMs of the new network will be available by the end of 2024 and may be identified by means of a visual distinctive that will feature the logos of the BHD and LATAM ATM Solutions.

The announcement was made during Fitur 2024 by Steven Puig, president of Banco BHD; Gabriel Glasberg, ATM Network Development Director of Euronet, and Ignacio Cea, New Businesses Global Managing Director of Prosegur Cash.

“The alliance with LATAM ATM Solutions will make more ATMs available to our clients and Unared users in the main tourist areas of the country so that they can access their funds at no additional cost, improving their experience and promoting financial inclusion,” said Puig.

Timothy Fanning, CEO of Euronet America, said that “BHD’s choice to align with LATAM, Euronet, Prosegur Cash and Euronet’s Ren platform highlights our growing technology, timely compliance with the mandates required by the card networks and the high security standards used by our global infrastructure, in addition to the options we offer users, setting new standards in the industry”.
