LATAM Cargo announced an increase in frequency for this month from Miami to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Guayaquil (Ecuador) and Lima (Peru), in the Boeing 767-300C that they maintain as a fleet.
According to a publication made by the company on its Linkedin account, the frequencies to the destinations will be as follows:
Miami – Santo Domingo: increases to four weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Miami – Guayaquil: increases to three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Miami – Lima: increases to three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
What does the increase in frequencies imply?
The increase in frequencies to Guayaquil serves to strengthen and have a presence in the flower market, facing the firms KLM Cargo or UPS.
The flower market’s main destinations are the United States, Russia and even the Netherlands, being a direct competitor of tulips.
Ecuador is the third largest flower exporter, after the Netherlands and Colombia.
On the other hand, the Dominican Republic has positioned itself as an exporter of cocoa, bananas and cane sugar.
Not to be left out is the export of gold from this Caribbean country, something that LATAM Cargo has been able to take advantage of.
Finally, Peru has taken advantage of the opportunity to compete with Chile in the export of avocados and blueberries.
