Universal Aviation and Aerodom to build new hangar at Puerto Plata airport

Universal Aviation and Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XII (Aerodom) announced the construction of a new hangar at the Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, to respond to the growing demand of high-profile clients in the country’s booming northern coast, initiatives that will be sponsored by Banreservas and the Fideicomiso Punta Bergantín.

In addition, they will work on the remodeling of the private flight terminal (FBO).

“It is a source of great pride for Universal Aviation to announce that we have reached an agreement with Aerodom for the management of the private flight terminal (FBO) of Puerto Plata in which we will make significant investments to adapt it to the standards of our multi-awarded world-class service,” said Danilo Rosario Jimenez, director of Universal Aviation in the country.

He explained that this agreement strengthens our fruitful relationship with Aerodom, which has already entrusted us with the La Isabela airport terminal, with excellent results.

“Starting in February, while the remodeling and construction of the new hangar is underway, we will enhance the user experience at the Puerto Plata FBO by incorporating, in addition to Universal Aviation’s award-winning assistance, exclusive concierge services, valet parking, Café Barista, buffet and signature menu for air catering, covered baggage carts, mini van transfers to the aircraft, as well as high-speed internet on the ramp,” he said.

Fabien Gourdon, Aerodom’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “With the management agreement we have reached with Universal Aviation, we are responding to the growing demand of high-profile customers in Puerto Plata with the same level of service we already successfully offer at Santo Domingo’s Isabela Airport.

“The extraordinary performance of the operation of that terminal has encouraged us to trust Universal again to bring to POP the same standard that this company offers worldwide with which we ensure a first class attention to its users,” he said.

It is recalled that the northern coast of the country, which includes the destinations of Puerto Plata, La Isabela, Sosúa, Cabarete, Gaspar Hernández, Río San Juan and Cabrera, has resurged vigorously with the development of recognized high-profile tourism projects such as the Aman Group and new investments such as Punta Bergantín, which aims to be the great reference for hotels, business and leisure in the area.
