Con 25 autos deportivos, comenzó la sexta edición del Porsche World Roadshow (PWRS) en Santo Domingo, la capital de República Dominicana. Un recorrido de ensueño donde llegamos al paraíso del lujo en La Romana, Casa Campo Resort.
¡Una experiencia increíble! Ni en los mejores sueños. Así fue el Porsche World Roadshow en República Dominicana. La revista Gentleman, en representación de México, fue invitada de excepción entre más de 40 medios de comunicación de seis países de América Latina y el Caribe, en esta sexta edición que se llevó a cabo en Santo Domingo, la capital del país caribeño, hasta el domingo 3 de julio.
Cada año la PWRS se celebra en un país diferente desde el año 2000. En los últimos años unas 45.000 personas de 45 países han tenido la oportunidad de participar en esta experiencia de conducción. Tras el éxito cosechado en 2002, 2009, 2011, 2014 y 2018, esta es la sexta vez que el PWRS llega a República Dominicana donde conquistó el corazón de todos. En esta ocasión pudimos disfrutar de una oportunidad única de circular por las carreteras del país de toda la gama de modelos Porsche, con las versiones más potentes del Taycan eléctrico, en sus carrocerías sedán y Cross Turismo, así como enchufable. -en híbridos Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid y Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. De esta forma podemos deisfrutar desde el Taycan Turbo S eléctrico hasta el 911 GT3, pasando por el Cayenne Turbo GT y el 718 Cayman GT4 RS, entre otros.
La jornada comenzó con la reunión en el Porsche Center Santo Domingo, donde periodistas y más de 480 asistentes VIP escucharon las explicaciones y consejos de los expertos e instructores profesionales de Porsche para el roadshow. Además, tuvimos la oportunidad de ver algunos de los modelos más exclusivos de la marca, ya que muchos coleccionistas donaron temporalmente sus vehículos para una exposición exclusiva de lujo.
With excitement running high, more than 40 journalists started the journey from the Porsche Center Santo Domingo to La Romana, an exclusive place where Casa de Campo Resort is located. During the 110 km distance between the two places, we had the opportunity to change vehicles several times in order to test the full range of German sports cars. In addition to the range of electric and plug-in hybrids, we were able to drive the different versions of Macan, Cayenne, 718 Boxster and Cayman, Panamera and 911. Unique sensations, fun and above all, 100% adrenaline!
After an hour and a half, we arrived in La Romana, a city located in the southeast of the Dominican Republic and one of the most important tourist spots in the Dominican Republic. Its name comes from an ancient Roman scale of great size that in the sixteenth century was used to weigh the goods passing through the port, very important at that time, and owned by a family originally from Rome.

After finishing lunch, the convoy set out to return to Santo Domingo, with the Porsche Centre Santo Domingo as the final destination. Again, we were able to drive several of the Porsche models along the way. We were in the green convoy, where we were delighted with the otherworldly performance of models such as the 911 GT3, 911 Carrera GTS Coupé, Boxter GTS 4, Panamera GTS, Cayenne Turbo S Ehybrid, Macan S and the spectacular Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. A dream come true!
At the end of the event, Jacinto Peynaldo, president of Auto Europa and exclusive importer of Porsche for the Dominican Republic, gave us a few words of thanks. “The Porsche World Roadshow gives drivers the opportunity to experience the new Porsche technologies in the company of professional instructors, which guarantees maximum enjoyment of the vehicles and a broad smile on the faces of the participants. Esta fue la sexta edición del Porsche World Roadshow en República Dominicana y ya estamos ansiosos por la séptima edición. Sin duda, una gran experiencia que no todos pueden contar, pero fuimos protagonistas en este roadshow donde pudimos conducir los modelos de alta gama de Porsche por las carreteras y playas de Santo Domingo, lugar que ya está guardado en nuestros corazones.
