The Government of Jamaica has given authorization to Dominican airlines to establish direct commercial flights between the two countries. This milestone has been the result of the work of the delegation of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Jamaica.
“The authorization for direct flights between the Dominican Republic and Jamaica represents a great diplomatic achievement for our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a source of great satisfaction for this Embassy,” said Angie Martinez, Dominican Ambassador to Jamaica.
The ambassador also stressed that this is an important step for connectivity between the two countries, which will mark a before and after in trade, investment and tourism relations.
In fact, there are already Jamaican companies interested in investing in tourism projects in the Dominican Republic, such as Sandals Resorts in Pedernales.
