The Chamber of Deputies, in the first session of the year 2024, approved the bill that declares Pedernales as an ecotourism province, an initiative authored by deputy Radhamés Camacho.
The law contemplates the creation of the Ecotourism Development Council of the province of Pedernales as the governing body for the promotion and as a non-profit entity to regulate the ecotourism activities of the demarcation.
It also creates the Provincial Fund for Ecotourism Development, which will be responsible for collecting, administering, investing and guarding the goods and resources assigned or collected. The initiative now passes to the Senate of the Republic for its knowledge and approval.
