Edeeste has installed 23,163 lamps in the “Illuminating the Country” program

As part of the ambitious “Illuminating the Country” program, Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este (Edeeste) announced the successful installation of 23,163 lamps, out of a total of 24,000 donated by the Ministry of the Interior and Police.

This effort responds to Edeeste’s firm commitment to improve the quality of life and strengthen public safety in all sectors of its concession area.

Engineer Manuel Mejía Naut, general manager of Edeeste, highlighted the importance of this lighting plan conceived by President Luis Abinader Corona and supported by the Ministry of Interior and Police through the program “My Safe Country”.

The main objective of this project is to benefit the popular sectors, especially those characterized by their vulnerability.

Of the 23,163 luminaires successfully installed, 14,882 have been strategically located in the province of Santo Domingo, the National District and the municipality of Guerra. These new installations not only illuminate our streets, but also transform the quality of life and social environment of our customers.

“With this project we are improving the visibility of drivers, we are reducing criminal activities, we are beautifying the urban environment, creating more pleasant spaces for citizens”, highlighted Naut.

With this significant progress, Edeeste reaffirms its commitment to the community, contributing to the construction of a safer and more vibrant environment.
