An exciting new choice.
Spartanburg-based family-dining chain Denny’s Corp. announced Wednesday it has opened its first restaurant in the Dominican Republic.
The store is part of Denny’s development agreement with franchisee Grupo Nahas. It is located in the food court of the Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, the company’s first airport restaurant in the world.
We are proud to bring Denny’s to the Dominican Republic, said Leonardo Nahas, Grupo Nahas general director, in a statement. It’s an honor to represent one of the largest and most successful brands in the world with our first-class service, quality products and friendly staff.
In addition to the Dominican Republic, Denny’s said it currently operates 1,680 franchised, licensed and company-owned restaurants in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, Guam, Curacao, Puerto Rico and New Zealand.
Steve Dunn, senior vice president of global development for Denny’s, said in a statement, We are excited to increase our international footprint here in the Dominican Republic and thrilled to be doing so in such a unique location. Denny’s is very fortunate to work with such an experienced franchise group that also own and operate some of the most prominent hotels on the island that include Intercontinental Hotel and Holiday Inn in Santo Domingo.
Nahas said the new restaurant will be good for the area’s economy and serve as an exciting new choice for airport customers.
We will become the best restaurant option, Nahas added. We will make guests feel at home so they can fully enjoy the Denny’s experience and the menu that we offer.
