Infotep and the FARD graduate more than 1,000 participants

The National Institute of Technical Professional Training (Infotep) and the Dominican Republic Air Force certified 1,010 members of this military institution, as well as community members of the population surrounding the installations of this military corps.

The graduation ceremony was held in the amphitheater of the Pavilion of Fame, Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, where Professor Rafael Santos Badía, general director of Infotep; Major General, Aviation Technician, Carlos Ramón Febrillet Rodríguez, general commander of the Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD), accompanied by his distinguished wife, engineer Mencía Ortiz de Febrillet, president of the Association of Wives of Officers of the FARD (AEOFARD), were present.

The general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, affirmed that the execution of these formative actions is framed in the high interest of the institution in the development of the whole eastern zone, through the training of its municipalities, both for decent and productive jobs as well as for entrepreneurship with their own initiatives and businesses.

Santos Badía said that both institutions are committed to the integral formation and training of the population surrounding the installations of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic, as well as members of the aforementioned military institution.

“We trained 1,010 participants in 52 training actions, which prepares them for better job opportunities and entrepreneurship,” he said.

He emphasized that this delivery of certificates is one of the fruits of an agreement signed in 2023 by both institutions, which has proved to be of great interest to members of the Air Force, as well as the surrounding communities.

For his part, Major General, Aviation Technician Carlos Ramón Febrillet Rodríguez, Commander General of the FARD, expressed his gratitude to God and the Virgin for the opportunity to celebrate the joint graduation between the Dominican Republic Air Force and Infotep, where more than 1,000 young people completed 23 courses.

Major General Febrillet affirmed that the technical training received by the young graduates will strengthen the operational capabilities of the Air Force and improve the lives of the soldiers and their families. He thanked the families for their sacrifice and urged the graduates to use their knowledge with pride and responsibility, to continue their learning and to serve with integrity, inspiring others. Finally, he congratulated them and wished them success in their future endeavors.

In the framework of the graduation, he recognized the director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, for his leadership and unconditional support to the FARD.

Acknowledgements

In the activity, the general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badía, was recognized with a replica of the Dulus aircraft, the first one assembled 100% by aviation technicians of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic.

Also recognized were the people who served as liaisons between the FARD and Infotep, for the execution and success of these training activities.

Among those recognized were pilot colonel Romel Oleaga Frias, administration technician colonel Jose de Oleo Perez, psychologist captain Leonela Pimentel, sergeant Mariely Martinez Rodriguez, and the assimilated Maria Franchesca Mejia, coordinator of the Labor School.

Infotep received awards from Iris Hurtado, Eastern Regional Director, Fernelis Berigüete, Eastern Regional Deputy Director, and Juan Matos, Metropolitan Regional Director.

Training activities of the graduates

Eight training actions were carried out at the Escuela Laboral “Asimilada Militar Profesora Aurora Tejeda Bueno, FARD”, where 115 people were trained in the areas of basic hairdressing for ladies, application of acrylic nails, hairdressing assistant.

Also, basic installations of residential electrical networks, nail application, basic domestic cooking, basic upholstery and basic men’s hairdressing services for a total of 1,375 hours.

Meanwhile, through the area of business services and training for companies, 213 graduates were impacted in 2023, in 10 training actions: basic photography techniques, advanced photography, basic secretarial and reception techniques, technical report writing, quality in customer service.

During the months elapsed in 2024, 682 graduates have been trained in 34 training areas: customer service, basic bar and restaurant concepts, etiquette and protocol for waiters, human resources training, risk management and opportunities for improvement, occupational health and safety, among others.

One hundred participants are currently being trained in the programs of basic upholstery, sales and promotion of pharmaceutical products and application of acrylic nails, from the Eastern Regional Directorate of Infotep.
