Peru and DR approve six cooperation projects

The Dominican delegation included the Vice Minister of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Miriam Guzmán, and the Vice Minister of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism, Carlos Peguero.

The governments of the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Peru approved the III Bilateral Cooperation Program of the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Peru.
Peru approved the III Bilateral Cooperation Program for the period 2022-2024, which covers six projects in the areas of agricultural development, industrial development
development, industrial development, risk management, transparency and gastronomic tourism.

The project Inclusion of gastronomy as part of the Country Brand and the Development of Gastronomic Tourism based on the Peruvian Experience and Strategies for the Reactivation of Tourism in the post-pandemic period, between the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) of the Dominican Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) of Peru, was approved.

Also, the project on Strengthening Institutional Capacity and Family Agriculture Producers of the Dominican Republic in the area of Agrifood Safety in Primary Production, between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic (MARD) and the National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA) of Peru.

In the area of risk management, the project for Strengthening the Technical and Scientific Capabilities of the
National Office for Seismic Evaluation and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (ONESVIE) in Disaster Risk Reduction from the
Disaster Risk Reduction from Seismic Events – Phase II, between the National Office of Seismic Evaluation and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (ONESVIE) of the Dominican Republic and the Peruvian-Japanese Center for Seismic Research and Disaster Mitigation (CISMID) of Peru.

In the area of government transparency, the project for Strengthening the Mechanisms for Transparency, Participation, Sustainability and Innovation of the Dominican Republic’s National Public Procurement System was approved.
between the Dominican Republic’s General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) and Peru’s Public Procurement Center (PERUCOMPRAS).

In the area of industrial development, the Technical Assistance Project to Strengthen Institutional Capacities for the
Development and Efficient Management of Industrial Parks and Districts in the Dominican Republic, between the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) and the National Program for Productive Diversification (PNDP) of the Peruvian Ministry of Production.

In the area of Justice, the project for the Exchange of Experiences and Best Practices in Penitentiary Management between the Republic of Peru and the Dominican Republic, between Academia
Regional Penitentiary Academy (ARP) and the National Penitentiary Institute of Peru (INPE).

The Dominican delegation included the Vice-Minister of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Miriam Guzmán, and the Vice-Minister of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism, Carlos Peguero; the person in charge of the
Department of Bilateral Cooperation Negotiations of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development, Pamela Polanco.
