Dominican journalist is recognized by New York congressman for his contributions in communications

The U.S. Congressman of Dominican origin, Adriano Espaillat, recognized journalist Vargavila Riverón for his contributions to communication and to various social causes in the country and abroad.

The distinction was granted by Espaillat to Riveron on behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives in New York City, whose state the U.S. official represents.

“In recognition of his extraordinary contributions to communication and to the Dominican people, on behalf of the House of Representatives and as a Congressman, we are honored to present this proclamation to Barga Riverón Belliard (Vargavila),” states the document.

The journalist, who received the award accompanied by model and actress Ana Mora, blogger José Zabala and photojournalist José Antonio Rodríguez, expressed his great joy and satisfaction at being recognized by the New York political leader and first Congressman of Dominican origin in the U.S. Congress.

“Today I have humbly received the recognition from Congressman Adriano Espaillat, I feel an enormous joy in my chest to receive this distinction from the first U.S. Congressman of Dominican origin, I dedicate it to our beloved Dominican Republic, especially to my people Dajabón, because we are proudly Quisqueyanos,” said Vargavila Riverón.
