BHD finances tourism projects with US$500M+

Banco BHD announced that it is working on the structuring of financing for hotel and tourism real estate projects that represent an investment of more than US$500 million for the country.

Luis Molina Mariñez, senior vice president of Corporate and Business Banking at Banco BHD, said that “we collaborate with the integral development of the industry by supporting hotel projects, real estate projects and the entire business ecosystem, that is, its value chain. We offer advice to our clients and structure facilities adapted to their needs. This is part of our commitment to continue promoting this sector, an important source of the country’s economic growth.

The information was offered during the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2024), where the bank presented its value proposition aimed at the tourism sector, which includes personalized advice and loan structuring services, syndicated loan administration, sale and leaseback, management of capital market resources, mergers and acquisitions, offered by a team of experts.

Banco BHD has been financing tourism-related projects for more than two decades, and in the last 15 years has provided financing to the sector for more than US$850 million. In 2023 alone, the bank’s loan portfolio grew by 47%, and its market share increased by close to 20%, in terms of its total tourism sector portfolio.
