Imperial Tobacco La Romana, in collaboration with the Dominican Association of Free Zones (Adozona) and the La Romana Bayahibe Tourism Cluster (CTRB), held the workshop “Keys for economic development in the Eastern region in 2024”, where they addressed the most important issues of the sectors that drive the economy of the area.
The workshop consisted of three modules: “Trends in the tourism sector in the Eastern region in 2024”, given by Ana García-Sotoca, executive director of the CTRB; “Free Zones, a sector of development and opportunities”, given by José Manuel Torres, executive vice-president of Adozona; and “Companies as drivers of social development for the Eastern region”, given by Juan José Pérez Bell, manager of Communication and Industrial Relations of Imperial Tobacco La Romana.
The modules addressed significant topics such as economic development strategies, business innovation and sectorial projections, providing participants with a comprehensive view of the factors that influence regional economic growth.
Oleg Dyatlov, general manager of Imperial Tobacco La Romana, mentioned that the purpose of the workshop was to provide participants with an opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge on a topic of great relevance and interest to the local community.
The event, which took place at the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus, Salón Romana, brought together more than 40 guests, who participated in the informative sessions, where the three entities reaffirmed their continued commitment to the growth and prosperity of the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic, and hope to continue collaborating in initiatives that contribute to the strengthening of the economic and social fabric of the area.
