Government manages to stabilize prices of agricultural products, according to the Minister of Agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, assured that, despite the impact of the pandemic on the economy, the Government has managed to maintain the stability of agricultural products and is working on solutions to harmonize those whose production requires international inputs.

Cruz affirmed that the population is assured of food and added that the prices of the basic food basket are constantly being monitored, in order to guarantee that food reaches the population’s table at fair prices.

“Even as we have found this country submerged in a pandemic, which is not anyone’s fault, however, we have faced the situation with work, with the delivery of degrees, with education, so I understand that this country is on the right track” , he indicated.

The official explained that agricultural products such as potatoes, bananas, garlic, onions, carrots, among others, have fallen in price, and only those that depend on external inputs such as chicken, eggs and pork have suffered variations.

The minister spoke when approached by journalists after participating in the National Palace in a ceremony where the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, delivered 274 certificates of housing titles to the same number of families from Villa Altagracia, as part of the titling plan developed by the Government throughout the country.
