IX Dominican Week kicks off in the United Kingdom

IX Dominican Week in the United Kingdom kicks off with the largest delegation in history

With a delegation of more than 110 businessmen and officials from the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom, the IX version of the Dominican Week, which is traditionally held in the British capital and which seeks to strengthen commercial ties between the two nations, kicked off this Monday.

The Dominican ambassador to Great Britain, Elnio Durán, and the president of the British Chamber of Commerce (BRITCHAM RD), Amauris Vasquez, opened the agenda of activities accompanied by the British ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Mockbul Ali OBE.

During the opening, the president of BRITCHAM explained that the main focus of this Dominican week will be to promote the orange economy between the two nations, combined with a series of ministerial meetings that will seek to streamline important binational issues that will improve trade between the UK and the Dominican Republic.

Elnio Durán“The Dominican week is the main opportunity we have to take advantage of a rich agenda where we encourage doing business and at the same time strengthen cultural ties between our countries, and promote important ministerial meetings that impact the development of the binational agenda between the UK and the Dominican Republic,” said Vasquez.

The program of activities began with an exhibition of the INICIA Firm, led by the president of the firm, Felipe Vicini, and includes not only events where attendees can take advantage of the opportunity to do new business, but also cultural activities.

Among the activities will be a concert by the outstanding Dominican violinist, Aisha Syed and a culinary event with the participation of the acclaimed Dominican chef, Erik Malmsten and also the screening of the Dominican film, Bantú Mama.

The edition of Dominican Week in the UK is made possible thanks to the collaboration of important Dominican institutions such as the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, PRODOMINICANA, the Directorate General of Cinema, the Directorate General of Customs and the sponsorship of INICIA, Banco Popular Dominicano, Banco del Reservas, Grupo Punta Cana, Pernod Ricard Dominicana, Labya, Brugal, Kah Kow, Hispania, TIMM, United Petroleum, Gulf Oil Dominicana, Design District Punta Cana, among others.
