More than 400,000 passengers traveled through the AILA during December

Santo Domingo – Las Americas International Airport has already surpassed 400,000 passengers mobilized in the first 24 days of December, when thousands of Dominicans living abroad are returning to the country for the Christmas holidays to be reunited with their families.

According to data offered by Aeropuertos Dominicanos XXI AERODOM, in the first 24 days of this month of December, more than 400,000 thousand national and foreign passengers have already entered and left the country for the Christmas holidays.

Regarding the incredible flow of passengers, Luis López, director of Communications of the company, explained that it is still expected that this week, on the eve of the New Year’s Eve celebration, the arrival of passengers through this terminal will intensify.

Lopez recalled that the forecasts are that by the end of the year, between 500,000 to 600,000 thousand passengers will be moving through the airport terminal, most of them Dominicans living in cities in the United States and European countries.

“We are still expecting a massive return of Dominican travelers and tourists on regular and additional flights for the New Year’s Eve celebrations,” said the Aerodom executive.
