With the celebration of a thanksgiving Eucharist at the San Judas Tadeo Parish, the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) thanked God for each of its collaborators, who have made it possible for 72% of the population to have access to Family Health Insurance.
Santiago Hazim, executive director of SeNaSa, in addressing the collaborators recalled that, upon his arrival in 2020, the Subsidized Regime had 3.7 million affiliates and, “today we have increased to 5.7 million affiliates, achieving 100% of President Luis Abinader’s mandate to affiliate 2 million people at the beginning of our administration, going from 67% to 98% coverage in the Family Health Insurance“.
He cited that, in the case of the Contributive Regime, it has been the population itself who have made it the largest ARS in the country; “when we arrived at SeNaSa the number of affiliates was 1,189,429 affiliates and, today, we have managed to bring that figure to over 1,721,510 affiliates, for an increase of over 532,081, which represents an increase of 45% distancing us from second place by more than 530,748 affiliates“.
He emphasized that the main achievement they can show is the fact that 7.6 million affiliates now have access to public and private health services, which shows the commitment of Social Security and “of course of the State, with the guarantee of the right to health for each and every one of us, providing us with an innumerable amount of benefits and options when choosing a health provider that suits all our needs“.
He said that thanks to the work carried out by all the collaborators at the national level, they have been able to offer 336 million health services in the period 2020 to May 2024, which were used by 5.9 million members of the different regimes and plans.
Prior to the SeNaSA director’s speech, the parish priest of St. Jude Thaddeus, Jorge Montoya, thanked the Almighty for the institution’s 22nd anniversary.
The action of grace began with a prayer and praise for the work that ARS Senasa has been developing, which reached its 22 years of health services this weekend.
