President Luis Abinader said this Saturday in his first official meeting with the press in New York, United States, that although all countries get tired of Haiti, the Dominican Republic will not get tired.
“Because it is to us that we get all their problems and that has to change.”
The President recalled that the Dominican Government tried to provide the vaccines against COVID-19 to the neighboring country, but they said they did not have the logistical capacity to receive them.
During the meeting, the head of state said that in his speech before the UN Assembly, he will refer to the Haitian issue.
When questioned as to why he traveled economy class Abinader said that if economizing is being “populist then he is a populist”.
