The president of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, informed that he will build in Punta Cana a hotel of the ‘Zel’ brand, which will become the first in the Americas.
He indicated that the project will be built in collaboration with tennis player Rafael Nadal, and will be of the latest generation, with a model tennis academy, the ‘Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy’.
“I want to share with you the experience of bringing the Zel brand to America for the first time, which is the brand we have recently created together with the great tennis player Rafael Nadal. It will be a state-of-the-art Zel right in Punta Cana and we are going to accompany it with a tennis academy that will also be a model, the ‘Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy’, which will also be the first in America,” he added in a video with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado.
Escarrer said he was proud of the collaboration that exists between the public and private sectors of the Dominican Republic, giving way to projects such as the Zel hotel, which is a bet on the diversification of the tourism, lodging and sports offer.
“We are very proud of this public-private collaboration and thanks to the support of President Abinader and Minister Collado for everything we are doing together. It is a bet on quality; diversification is once again a reality here in Bávaro,” emphasized the Spanish executive.
On his side, Collado wrote next to the video that “Great news for the Dominican Republic and tennis lovers! Thanks to Gabriel Escarrer and the Meliá Hotels chain for continuing to bet on innovative, sustainable and 100% Dominican tourism. We announce with great joy the implementation of a new tourist space with the creation of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy in Bávaro, Punta Cana. Guess who will visit the Dominican Republic next year?”.
