Abinader attends inauguration of new Milwaukee Brewers academy

President Luis Abinader attended the inauguration of the new academy of the Milwaukee Brewers, in Santo Domingo East, with capacity for approximately 100 players and with three complete playing fields, an infield, an agility field and a batting facility covered with four tunnels, built on more than 1.3 million square meters.

Upon leaving the event, the president spoke with the journalists present and emphasized that all the academies are investing in the country, which reflects the growth of the sport. “They have the confidence that the government will continue to support them”.

During the ceremony, the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, emphasized that the DR is the only country that houses facilities for the 30 major league teams and added that this opening of a new academy is thanks to the conditions of legal and economic stability and the transparency that exists in the current government administration.

Likewise, the owner of the Brewers, Mark Attanasio; Senior Vice President and General Manager, Matt Arnold and Director of Operations for Latin America, Manuel Vargas, expressed their gratitude to President Abinader for the honor of his presence at the event and said they share his vision of exalting the importance of education in the players with this new academy, which represents a positive impact in the country and throughout Latin America.

Prior to the ribbon cutting, President Abinader was presented with a team jacket with the number 1.

Present at the activities were the Ministers of the Presidency, Joel Santos; Acting Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Igor Rodríguez; the Senator for the Province of Santo Domingo, Antonio Taveras; Governor Julia Drullard; the Mayor of Santo Domingo East, Manuel Jiménez; the directors of the Dominican Agrarian Institute, Francisco Guillermo García; of National Assets and the CEA, Rafael Burgos; of the National Cadastre, Héctor Mirambeaux.

Also, Dio Astacio; the deputies, Pedro Julio Alcántara, Adalgisa Abreu and Juan José Rojas; the Superintendent of Insurance, Josefa Castillo; the rector of the Instituto Técnico Superior Comunitario (ITSC), Pedro Antonio Quezada; the director of Beautification, Marcos de León and the director of Inposdom, Erick Guzmán.
