Alex Rodriguez interested in bringing Timberwolves to the country

Former Major League Baseball player Alex Rodriguez expressed to a group of Dominican journalists at Yankee Stadium, including Enrique Rojas of ESPN, his interest in bringing the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Dominican Republic to play an exhibition game at the Palacio de los Deportes “Virgilio Travieso Soto”.

President Luis Abinader saw the tweet posted on the X account of journalist Rojas and urged him to manage the approach to provoke the visit of the team of which Rodriguez is owner along with a group of shareholders, and in which the also Dominican, Karl-Anthony Towns, plays.

The Timberwolves lost in the NBA conference semifinals to Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets. If the Minnesota team visits the country, it would be the second time they would be in the country, since in the 2000s, they played against the Miami Heat, when Luis Felipe López was a member of the team.
