Air Europa to link DR with Africa with stopover in Madrid

Air Europa will offer flights from the Dominican Republic to North Africa with a stopover in Madrid starting next March 2024, the airline announced.

According to the company, flights to Morocco will start next month, while travel to Tunisia will begin in June 2024.

The routes to Marrakech and Tunis will be available until the end of October and will make it possible to respond to the demand that both tourist destinations have been registering since they entered service.

Trips to the Moroccan capital began in 2017, while those connecting Madrid to Tunisia began in 2019. According to Air Europa, the route’s success last year was reflected in average occupancy levels of over 87%.

To offer the service, Air Europa will use its Boeing 737 fleet. This single-aisle model will cover short- and medium-haul routes, balancing high passenger travel volume with “responsible” consumption.

This year Air Europa signed a codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways. Thanks to this, the airline’s customers will be able to fly to Nairobi from Madrid on a connecting flight from Amsterdam, expanding its range of destinations on the continent using a single ticket.
