Collado inaugurates DR stand at IFTM tourism fair in Paris

Tourism Minister David Collado, presided over the opening ceremony of the Dominican Republic’s stand at the Paris International Tourism Fair, Top Resa 2023 and highlighted the importance of French tourism.
He was accompanied by the president of the DR Hotels and Tourism Association, Asonahores, David Llibre, and tourism entrepreneurs attending the event. Hundreds of participants visited the stand on the opening day of the fair, which concludes on Thursday, October 5.

France has been the main market for Dominican tourism in Europe for the last 10 years and appears on the list of the top ten countries with the largest presence.

Collado stressed the importance of the country’s presence at the Paris fair and the significance of Dominican relations with the French tourism industry.

The French fair is one of the four most important in Europe and the world, along with Berlin, London and Madrid. Thousands of companies, travel agents, tour operators and media from the host country, Europe and the main destinations meet in Paris.

Last year more than 217,000 tourists arrived from France; in the period January-August 2023 we received 118,489 French tourists. The market has been affected mainly by the reduction in the supply of seats. In 2022 Colombia occupied the third place (more than 283 thousand tourists) displacing France to the fourth (more than 217 thousand).
