Cruise tourism reactivates in the Dominican Republic

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, informed this Tuesday about the reactivation of cruise tourism in the Dominican Republic, with the arrival of 2,600 passengers to Puerto Plata through the Amber Cove terminal.

“The bride of the Atlantic receives this first cruise ship where tourism and commerce are reactivated hand in hand, but above all the happiness of the people on their faces knowing that we are fighting together for a collective well-being,” the official wrote on his Twitter account.

The official informed that the cruise ship has 100% of its crew vaccinated and 95% of its passengers vaccinated, understanding that 5% are children.

Carnival Horizon, coming from Miami, Florida, is the first cruise ship with passengers returning to the Dominican Republic since March 2020.
