10 dollar fee eliminated for Dominican passengers

The president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) informed the national and foreign airline operators that carry out international passenger transportation to and from the Dominican Republic, that the charge of ten United States dollars (US $10.00) for the Tourist Card will not be made on airline tickets for Dominican national passengers, as well as for foreigners residing in the Dominican Republic.

During the extraordinary session, the only item discussed was the revision of the payment mechanism of the Tourism Card issued by the Dominican Republic, in order to avoid the illegal collection of the US 10.00 in the airline tickets of Dominican passengers and foreign residents.Junta de Aviacion Civil

Through Resolution 217-2022, airline operators are instructed to make the necessary adjustments in their computer systems to eliminate the aforementioned charge.

The document indicates that airlines that carry out international passenger transportation to and from the Dominican Republic are responsible for strict compliance with this Resolution.

It also states that a term of 45 days is granted for the effective and efficient implementation of this measure.

The information was also notified to the General Directorate of Immigration, the Association of Airlines of the Dominican Republic, the Dominican Association of Airlines and the legal representatives of the national and foreign airline operators.
