For next winter, American Airlines will launch its fifth destination in the Dominican Republic, La Romana, strengthening its presence in the country, with flights between La Romana International Airport and Miami International Airport beginning December 5 and operating daily with Airbus A319s.
“We are proud to continue to grow our presence in the Dominican Republic with our much anticipated return to La Romana,” said Oliver Bojos, American Airlines Regional Manager for the Central Caribbean.
He indicated that “next year we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary in the country with a record operation, reinforcing our commitment to the Dominican Republic, our local team and our customers, who year after year select American as their airline of choice.”
For the winter operation in the Dominican Republic, American plans to operate up to 25 flights daily on peak days to five destinations in the country: La Romana, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Santiago and Santo Domingo.
The airline will offer 5% more flights and 6% more seats than during its record operation the previous winter.
Tickets will be on sale on the airline’s website or mobile app from next May 20.
