Sky Cana to link New York with AILA and Cibao

Executives of Sky Cana, the new Dominican-owned airline, announced that it will soon start operations from New York in the United States to Las Americas (AILA) and Cibao airports in the Dominican Republic.

A commission of the airline visited the Dominican consul, Eligio Jáquez, to present Sky Cana’s operation plans, where they said that the company will start operations from November 18 and December 2, 2021.

Frank Diaz, CEO of the company, informed that Sky Cana currently operates daily flights from Punta Cana airport, in the city of Higuey, to Miami.

He explained that Sky Cana will offer a flat rate, one free suitcase and carry-on baggage, and if the passenger covers the cost, he/she could carry up to five additional suitcases.

He clarified, however, that in the winter the fare will increase by US$50 due to the need to de-freight the planes.

He informed that Sky Cana will use terminal one at John F. Kennedy airport, which has 13 gates for entry and exit.

He also assured that passengers will enjoy hot Dominican food on board, as well as other facilities during the flight.

Consul Jáquez welcomed the executives and expressed that the doors of the Consulate will always be open to support this and other businesses that benefit the economy of the Dominican Republic.
