Gregorio Luperón Museum

Inaugurated in 2012, this restored Victorian-style building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Puerto Plata. The Gregorio Luperón House Museum tells the story of this general, who was recognized as a national hero in the victory of the Dominican forces that restored the country’s independence from Spain in 1865. The two-story museum displays artifacts from the era, including costumes and furniture, as well as a photo gallery. The patio is a wonderful centerpiece, flanked by a colorful mural of General Luperón.
