President Luis Abinader made a call this Saturday to young Dominicans not to set limits to their aspirations, regardless of the area in which they want to develop, and for this, he assured, they will have the greatest possible support from the Government.
“I have always said that Dominican youth should not have limits to what they aspire, and there is the example of Marileidy, and I repeat that not only in sports,” said the president.
The President said that the Dominican athlete Marileidy Paulino is a national pride, because she not only won gold at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and was crowned as the new queen of the 400 meters, but also because she broke the Olympic record, with 48.17 seconds.
He expressed that Marileidy, besides being a national pride, is a paradigm to follow for the Dominican youth, and said that he watched the race always confident, because the Dominican athlete felt sure that she would be the winner and that he hopes to be able to receive her soon.
He considered that the Dominican people have to applaud this great feat and added that he has received calls from presidents of other countries to congratulate him for Marileidy’s great work.
President Abinader expressed himself in these terms when approached by the press, at the conclusion of the inauguration of the remodeled School of Fine Arts in Santiago.
