Dominican Republic inaugurates its first consulate in Shanghai

The Dominican Republic inaugurated its first consulate in Shanghai, China.

Wu Xi, director of the Department of Consular Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, explained that the headquarters will inject new vitality to expand local exchanges and promote economic and trade collaboration between China and the Dominican Republic, “which will also enrich the strategic connotation of bilateral relations”.

For his part, the ambassador of the Dominican Republic in China, Briunny Garabito Segura, highlighted the interest of the Dominican Republic to continue strengthening relations with China and giving confidence in the future achievements between the two nations.

The activity was headed by Consul Victor Nicolas, who expressed the expectation of developing a mutually beneficial exchange between both parties.

Leaders of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government also attended.
